JAZZY JAY
Bronx & Club Foundations (Core Roster Selector)
JAZZY JAY (Jazzy Jay) is a documented selector and collective member of [BX-73] Bronx Founding Fathers & Herculords. Representing South Bronx, NY / Harlem, NY, JAZZY JAY helped shape BX-73's battle wax legacy, hardware craft, and international sound system sessions.
“On August 11, 1973, at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx, DJ Kool Herc isolated the instrumental drum break using two copies of the same record ('The Merry-Go-Round'). Grandmaster Flash engineered the Quick Mix Theory & Clock Theory, Grand Wizzard Theodore invented the scratch in 1975, and Afrika Bambaataa expanded the crate across electro, funk, and global breaks.”
